Jewellery

I create statement pieces of wearable art jewellery. Colourful sculptural jewellery made from mixed materials including: eco silver, copper, brass, leather and jesmonite. I experiment with casting etching, patination, mark making, and enamelling.

Since childhood I have been collecting and foraging found objects whether that be an old coin, colourful pebbles, a rusty relic, feathers, or sea glass; I have always had an extensive collection of ‘treasures.’ visits to the Norwich Castle Museum and seeing the collection of Egyptian jewellery embedded a fascination for jewellery. I have always made experimental jewellery and curated mini collections.

I studied theatre design at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, London. Theatre and storytelling have always influenced my work. For many years I have practiced as a community & environmental artist. Over the years I have developed my jewellery making skills, taking classes in Norwich, Shrewsbury and in the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham.

I take inspiration from museum collections and the natural world around me. I am fascinated by unearthed relics, tribal jewellery, and ancient artefacts. I love to discover the ceremonies and stories behind them.

Born and raised in rural Norfolk I have a great love for the north Norfolk coast and visit often. I work from my studio in Shropshire and often spend time stomping the Shropshire Hills. I regularly exhibit in both counties.
