Linda’s main interest has always been people, faces and figures, real or imagined. She drew for her own amusement and to record things as a child and for many years afterwards. In 2019, she began painting, inspired by the work of favourite historic and contemporary artists, and has focused on portraiture. Capturing character and likeness, a person in their element, a mood or a moment, are the ongoing challenges in her work.
Linda contributed several portraits to the NHS Portraits for Heroes initiative during lockdown, and has exhibited with the Society of Women Artists, Discerning Eye, the RBSA, Ty Pawb, the Self Portrait Prize and locally in the Shrewsbury Arts Trail.
She works from recordings and reference images, and when possible from life, to create her own work and to commission.
