My work is mainly inspired by my surroundings and nature. Landscapes, views, skies, flowers and trees are my most common subjects. Initially, i like to use unpredictable media – inks, dyes, watercolours etc. I then add textures and details using a variety of media such as drawing, painting, collage, print, batik. The final element is usually free machine embroidery, which I use as a mark-making tool to embellish and enhance my paintings. This features in all my work – whether it is on paint or paper.
