Collage Artist Extraordinaire
The abandoned, unloved and unwanted are transformed into unique opulent art, rich in narrative and intrigue.
Caris is a mixed-media collage artist based in Ironbridge. Her collages are created from discarded magazines, calendars, prints, and posters that are lovingly cut up and arranged to create lavish, multifaceted artworks. She is inspired by kitsch and colourful mid-century graphics and iconography.
Caris’s work has been exhibited around the UK and transformed into homewares and merchandise. In 2022 she was commissioned to create a bespoke wallpaper mural telling the story of London markets and the Tyburn Stone, which is on permanent display at Hilton London Metropole Hotel.
Eight bespoke portraits were commissioned for the inaugural Latitude Women’s Contemporary Art Exhibition at Latitude Festival 2023, celebrating trailblazing, uncompromising and unapologetic women from Art, Music and Fashion who went against the grain to make an impact and to leave a lasting legacy.
You can visit her open studio at The Bolthole Store in Ironbridge all year round.
