The Shrewsbury Open Studios event takes place over two weekends in and around the town centre. You can open your studio in any combination of these four days and for as long as you like but obviously, the more you’re open, the more visitors…
You don’t have to have a studio in town to participate, and not all artists have a studio suitable for taking part, so we like to encourage artists to collaborate and share their own venue or another public space. This has worked well in previous years and SYOS will try to help put artists in contact with each other to achieve this. This year Participate, the English Bridge Workshop and the Flaxmill Maltings will be available to artists who don’t have a suitable studio to exhibit. Please indicate on your submission form whether you will be using your own studio in Shrewsbury or need to exhibit in one of the public spaces in the town.
Everyone taking part in the event has their details shown in the extra event publicity, and their venue shown on the SYOS town map and Art Trail literature. All artists also have their information promoted on our Facebook & Twitter pages.
Galleries can pay the same fee as the individual artists for the same level of involvement: from a page on the website as a member, to the full Open Studios weekend literature and inclusion in the Arts Trail.
For your page, you will need to supply us with:
Participants must have public liability insurance to take part in the Open Studios Art Trail event and must submit a copy of cover certificate to us along with your application. Members participate at their own risk.
