Wendy Riddick

Wendy Riddick has completed a BA Honours degree in textiles at Goldsmiths. She then worked as an archaeological illustrator. Her teaching career began when she returned to Shrewsbury in 1982.

Wendy has always continued and maintained being a practicing artist, participating in exhibitions taking commissions and selling work. She has had several solo exhibitions and has been selected and exhibited at the knitting and stitching show in the tutor’s exhibition. She has produced work for exhibitions in National trust properties and has textiles in private collections in this country and abroad.

Wendy has a studio at Participate Contemporary Art space in Shrewsbury where she exhibits her work; is a member of the steering committee of STACS, Shrewsbury Textiles and creative Stitch group and a past Chairman of the Shropshire Branch of the Embroidery Guild; a member of the Flaxmill and Malting’s committee and member of the art committee, has produced work inspired from the building and is member of the historical stitch group that meets there; and is a member of Van the Visual arts network.

Wendy is very competent in delivering both design skills and the craft of embroidery and decorative textiles.
