Predominantly a two dimensional artist Jean enjoys working in large black pastel drawing, paint, mixed media, a bit of photography and printmaking. The latter she finds particularly exciting, especially collagraph printmaking.
Very much inspired by our beautiful landscape… ”it’s ever changing colour, shapes, moods and texture suits the medium of printmaking perfectly, colour, shape and texture evoke feelings and experience”. She is interested in the human condition and finds these two themes interrelate wonderfully with appealing ambiguity. Jean is an Arts for Health & Wellbeing Practitioner living and working in Shropshire combining her passion for art and it’s benefits to health and wellbeing. She runs several community, Arts for Health and Wellbeing, groups in Telford and Shrewsbury.
Jean moved to Much Wenlock in 1987 from Worcester and now lives in Coalbrookdale, Telford. She studied Fine Art at Birmingham College of Art (UCE) as a mature student gaining a BA Hons. Jean has exhibited in Worcestershire, Birmingham, Shropshire and London and now has a studio space at the English Bridge Workshop in Shrewsbury.
